Possible Windows App Store Screenshots Leaked

We’ve heard rumors that Microsoft is working on an App Store model codenamed “Jupiter” for their upcoming release of Windows 8. Very little is known about the app store, but small bits have started to leak about Microsoft’s plan for the new app model.
Cnbeta posted screenshots this morning of the supposed App Store running in Windows 7. The screenshots have not yet been confirmed, so take this with a grain of salt.

As you may have noticed, the app store layout is very similar to the iTunes storefront and surprisingly doesn’t look too much like the Zune Marketplace that is offered for Zune and Windows Phone devices. There also doesn’t appear to be any Metro UI elements, which is odd considering that Microsoft is moving most of their software and web offerings to the Metro interface.

You may also note the small icon in the title bar that appears to be the same logo used at Microsoft retail store chains. Noticeably missing is the ribbon UI that we’ve seen in other screenshots lately, so this could be an early build or they might have chosen a different layout for the App Store. The overall layout is similar to the current Windows Live essential programs, so if you are familiar or an Essentials user this will seem pretty recognizeable.
You can check out the screenshots at the source link. Let us know your thoughts on the possible screenshots from the upcoming Windows App Store.
